Sega announced during the event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, a new game franchise. This time the game will return to its classical roots 2D Sonic Mania.
The game will feature three characters: Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. Characters also be designed in the mythical form of 16 bits.
As a collaboration between SEGA, Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games, will be a combination of classic and new areas.
The game will be released in spring 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
