Call: South Korean thriller premieres on Netflix

"Call" (콜) is a suspense film in which the plot involves a woman who lives in the present and befriends a woman in the past. The feature film with a release date for the beginning of the year in Korean theaters was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The movie Call is directed by Lee Chung Hyun and involves the story of two women who live at different times. However, both are connected by a phone call. Seo Yeon (Park Shin Hye) lives in the year 2019, while Young Sook (Jung Song Seo) lives in the year 1999. In the story, the characters realize that they are in the same residence, but in different years.

Seo Yeon tries to change the past after connecting with someone who lived in the same house 20 years ago. With a smile on her face, Seo Yeon asks Young Sook, "Is there anything else you're curious about?" Young Sook responds, "Myself in 20 years."


In addition to the leads, the film features actress Kim Sung Ryung, who will play Seo Yeon's mother. Lee El, who will play Young Sook's mother, a woman of intense maternal love, but with a cold appearance. Also, Lee Chung Hyun is the same director of the short film "Bargain" and the movie Call will be his first feature film.
