During the Annula award ceremony, “PlayStation Awards 2020 Japan Asia”, Persona 5 Royal received the “Partner Award” and thanks to that, the game development team sent a video as a thank you.
The video opens with director Kazuhisa Wada, where after celebrating that Persona 5 received a PlayStation award for 5 years in a row, it gives a small preview to the 25th anniversary of the Persona franchise that will take place in 2021.
In his speech, Wada says the following:
"As next year is the 25th anniversary of the Persona franchise, we have several exciting plans that we hope you will enjoy."
Interestingly, the director had already mentioned, in December 2019, that the team was cautiously planning the 25th anniversary of Persona in 2021.
Persona 5 was released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on September 15, 2016. In the rest of the world, the game was released on April 4, 2017, after a delay. The game features animation sequences from Production I.G.
An enhanced version of Persona 5, titled "Persona 5 Royal", was released on October 31, 2019 in Japan and on March 31, 2020 in the rest of the world.
He recently unveiled officially that the title Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantoms Strikers is coming to the West next year under the name Persona 5 Strikers.
